Spanish At Work
About three weeks ago I had to go to the doctor in Manchester so I stopped where my mom works. She works at the courthouse. While I was waiting for my appointment my mom was talking to another person she works with about school and I started talking about it too. Then we got on the subject of Spanish. The girl my mom works with said that she took it for two years and only used it once but it was in the strangest place. It was about ten years ago and she was the manager of a tool store and she was walking around door to door handing out fliers or something. She stopped at one persons house and the girl there only spoke Spanish, and they lived in Manchester! She stood there and tried to think of some words to say, because she hasn't talked in Spanish for about 15 years. She thought of enough words to hold a conversation. That proves Spanish is still important and it can be in any job. she was a tool store manager and she still had to speak Spanish and it was in Manchester, so Spanish is used everywhere even here.
