Telemarketer

We've all had those annoying phone calls that wake you out of bed or disrupt family time. You pick up the phone expecting a friend or family member, but you thought wrong. You say, "Hello," and there is a short pause before you here a recording or a cheerful voice that is only there to waste your time. Everyone's reactions are probably different. Some of you may be respectful and say, "Please take me off your list." While some of you may get angry and yell threw the phone at a person, who is just doing their jobs. Well what if you took a different approach?
Early one morning, as I'm just waking up, I get this phone call. Not thinking, I walk down stairs and rudely say, "Hello," into the phone. A lady's voice replies, "Hello Mrs. Sternhagen, we would like you to take part in a twenty minute survey on how you think Barack Obama is doing in office." Now I'm usually one of those people who freak out and hang up the phone, but I decided to take a different approach. I politely said, "No hablo ingles." Then I heard the lady shuffling things around and then a man takes the phone. He starts rambling off a bunch of spanish words so fast, that even if I wanted to digest the sentences, I wouldn't be able too.
In the end when I tell the story, I always laugh knowing no one else would of probably tried something like that. So, in the end if you take a different approach you will end up with a different conclusion.
