Spanish Racism...

My mom was helping me figure out what to write my blog about. She mentioned that she had a Mexican woman apply with her. The lady told her that at another nursing home, some of the residents wouldn't allow her into their rooms because she was "one on them." I never realized that there was that kind of racism toward Mexican people. I think that it's sad that people think that way. There shouldn't be those kinds of feelings towards them. When my mom said this i was shocked because my mom works with many women from Mexico and so does my dad. There is nothing different about them and anyone else other than their origin. This was shocking because this lady was very fluent in English and the only way you would know she was Mexican was by her looks. I could see not wanting to try to communicate with her if she was not fluent in English because it would be hard but there really is no reason of that.
